OEA – VI Cumbre de las Américas “Conectando las Américas: Socios para la Prosperidad”

Nos es grato informarle que la Sexta Cumbre de las Américas “Conectando las Américas: Socios para la Prosperidad” se llevará a cabo el 14 y 15 de abril de 2012 en Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
Adjunto encontrará la Guía de Participación en la Sexta Cumbre de las Américas para los actores sociales, incluyendo las organizaciones de la sociedad civil (OSC). Dicha Guía contiene información sobre el proceso y los requisitos de acreditación, así como las actividades para la participación de las OSC que se llevarán a cabo del 11 al 13 de abril de 2012 en el marco de la Sexta Cumbre, a saber:
1. Foro de la Sociedad Civil – 11 y 12 de abril de 2012 – El Foro de la Sociedad Civil brindará una oportunidad a los representantes de las OSC y los actores sociales para discutir entre ellos y desarrollar recomendaciones sobre cómo las OSC pueden colaborar con los gobiernos en el seguimiento y la implementación de los mandatos de la Cumbre relacionados con los seis temas que serán abordados por los Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno en la Sexta Cumbre. En dicho Foro, los participantes elegirán entre ellos a uno o dos representantes que presentarán las recomendaciones el próximo día en el Diálogo con Representantes del Alto Nivel de los Gobiernos de los Estados Miembros y Actores Sociales.
2. Diálogo con Representantes del Alto Nivel de los Gobiernos de los Estados Miembros y Actores Sociales – 13 de abril de 2012 – Este Diálogo ofrecerá un espacio a los representantes de las OSC, los jóvenes, los trabajadores, el sector privado y los pueblos indígenas para presentar sus recomendaciones a los Jefes de Delegación de los Estados Miembros sobre cómo dichos grupos pueden colaborar con los gobiernos en la implementación y el seguimiento de los mandatos de la Sexta Cumbre.
El registro para los actores sociales estará abierto del 10 de febrero al 10 de marzo de 2012. Por favor tenga en cuenta que el proceso de registro consiste en tres pasos, por lo que le recomendamos revisar la Guía de Participación con mucha atención con el fin de asegurar que su cumplimiento con todos los requisitos de participación. Los borradores de agenda y el boletín informativo para los actores sociales estará disponible en los próximos días. OAS – VI Summit of the Americas “Connecting the Americas: Partners for Prosperity”

We are pleased to inform you that the Sixth Summit of the Americas “Connecting the Americas : Partners for Prosperity” will be held on April 14-15, 2012 in Cartagena de Indias , Colombia .
Please find attached the Guide for Participation in the Sixth Summit of the Americas (English version will be available soon) for social actors, including civil society organizations (CSOs). This Guide contains information about the accreditation process and requirements, as well as the activities open to CSO participation that will be carried out on April 11-13, 2012 in the framework of the Sixth Summit, including:
1. Civil Society Forum – April 11-12, 2012 – The Civil Society Forum will provide an opportunity for representatives of CSOs and other social actors to discuss and collectively develop recommendations on how CSOs can collaborate with governments in the follow-up and implementation of the Summit mandates related to each of the six topics that will be addressed by the Heads of State and Government at the Sixth Summit. During the forum, the participants will elect among themselves one or two representatives who will present the recommendations the following day in the Dialogue with High-level Representatives of the Member States ’ Governments and Social Actors.
2. Dialogue with High-level Representatives of the Member States’ Governments and Social Actors – April 13, 2012 – This Dialogue will offer a space for representatives of CSOs, youth, workers, the private sector and indigenous peoples to present their recommendations to the Heads of Delegation of the Member States regarding how the aforementioned groups of social actors can collaborate with the governments in the implementation and follow-up of the Sixth Summit mandates.
Registration for social actors will be open from February 10 to March 10, 2012. Please bear in mind that the registration process entails of three steps, for which we urge you to carefully review the Guide for Participation in order to ensure that you meet all of the requirements for participation. The draft agendas and information bulletin for social actors will be available soon.
